Well if this isn’t proof alone that i’ve triumphed where i initially doubted myself, i successfully ticked off my second marathon in two months at the weekend by completing the BT Rock and Roll Liverpool Marathon in 3hr56 minutes beating the previous Manchester Marathon time of 4hr23.
Totally over the moon and chuffed as hell!
It’s funny though as due to Uni revision/exams i wasn’t able to train as hard before this last race as i had done before the Manchester marathon (albeit still running 30miles a week) and i put this down to two things.
Firstly, my think positive>be positive mindset and secondly meeting a nice girly just after the start of the race. Over the first few miles we seemed to keep following each other and making gaps when passing people so i said hey We comfortably pushed each other for the first 16 miles so huge random shout to Rebecca Smith Sadly we lost each other after a toilet stop but like a sweetie she was hanging around at the finish line. She smashed my time and such a fab result.
Moving on, I’m already signed up for the Manchester Marathon next year and additionally the Liverpool Marathon again. God help me if my ballot entry for Virgin Marathon gets in too. Whoopsies.
Anyway, my next challenge for The Christie is the Great North Run in September Can’t wait.
Thanks for all the support. The Christie is one of a number of amazing charities and i’m so appreciative of the care and support provided my way X
Here’s a selection of photos from the weekend. Actual race photos are on their way too.
