Short Acromegaly survey for student at Cambridge University

Are you a patient with Acromegaly? Have you been on daily injections?

Well if you answered yes to both of the above could you help a student at Cambridge University and complete a short survey? Here’s the information from the student and a link to the survey.

Hello, My name is Nadia Jesus and I am a student from the University of Cambridge. I have found your blog while doing my research about acromegaly. I found it very informative and it helps us understand more about the disease an how complicated it is to get the right diagnosis and treatment.

I would like to know if it’s possible for you to answer a short and anonymous survey about how you find receiving injections as part of treatment. This is for my final dissertation. I explain in brief, my dissertation focuses on analysing how, according to the needs of patients, the drug delivery system can contribute to make administration more easy and convenient to the patient. The questions are related to the injection experience for Acromegaly patients, as the focus of my course is on medical devices, i.e. syringes, vials, autoinjection pens…

I would like to know the opinions and perceptions of patients about the topic. I have performed few interviews (so far I only succeeded in interviewing 4 patients as I have been working closely with the endocrine nurses in Addenbrookes Hospital, here in Cambridge), and I decided to give it a try with an anonymous online survey so maybe in this way, I can reach more patients and get their valuable opinions and understand the experiences and needs.

I would be very grateful if you could help.

If it’s not much to ask, I wonder if I can have a short skype interview with you, about the same topic: injection experience. If you have any question, please let me know. Have a nice day!

Best regards,
